With all the speed that will be in the Kentucky Derby, it appears that for one of the favorites to hit the lead first he will need to back off the leaders in the early part of the race. The pure speed horses are Brother Derek, Sinister Minister and Sweetnorthernsaint. These three have shown that they absolutely need to be at the front.
